The first dwarf birch leaves finally emerging, June 9


June 14 - new leaves on a small alder shrub, about the only time an alder is ever attractive!


June 20 - fresh bunchberry leaves growing out of a moss carpet


June 21 - Starflower


June 21 - Labrador tea just beginning to bloom


June 21 - The first of the bog laurels are also starting to bloom


More bog laurel ... pretty much the only colour in the landscape late in June


June 26 - The much loved bakeapples (cloudberries) are now blooming in the bogs; later in
summer their berries will be highly sought after
