Relatively
little is known about the migratory strategies of many northern raptors. Several species are suspected to be highly
nomadic, but banding data and other tracking studies have been too limited to assess movement patterns with any reliability. As such, MRF is developing a research program to investigate
the movements of several northern raptors, beginning with simple banding studies, and hopefully expanding over time to more sophisticated tracking of individuals using geolocators or satellite transmitters.
